Haggis are incurable Romantics.
and here's why...
It isn’t unusual to find evidence of Haggis activity in areas where filming of the ever popular television series ‘Outlander’ is taking place.
It’s as if the Haggis sense the history that’s being made and gravitate towards film locations.
Glencorse Old Kirk in Midlothian is where Jamie and Claire tied the knot in the popular tale and this location was strewn with evidence of Haggis activity (droppings, Haggis fur, old bits of discarded turnip).
Clearly, the Haggis enjoy the romance of the tale as much as we do.
Tibbermore Parish Church in Perthshire was the setting for the infamous Claire/ Geillis’s witch trial. Tiny Haggis footprints were discovered in the pulpit in the church used in the notorious scene suggesting a desire to stand in the footsteps of the characters.
Filming in Falkland in Fife, eyewitness accounts say they heard incessant scuffling and snuffling sounds in the village and surrounding forest areas for the duration of ‘Outlander’ filming .
As soon as the crew left the village, the noises stopped - we presume because the Haggis vanished to grace filming pastures anew with their presence.
Given this evidence we truly think the Haggis must be super fans of the series. This behaviour has never been observed before with any other undomesticated creature which leads us to conclude, Haggis do indeed appear to be one of the most romantic animals in existence today.
